Stevie Wonder Songbook Volume 2 Released for 75th Birthday

A new three‑volume Stevie Wonder Songbook was issued to mark the artist’s 75th birthday on May 13. Volume 2 continues the approach of the first volume, compiling classic tracks and songs Wonder wrote for other performers but never recorded himself. The collection features covers such as The Spinners’ “It’s A Shame,” Third World’s “Try Jah Love,” and a rendition of “Tell Me Something Good” by Maceo Parker, alongside previously unreleased recordings like “Until You Come Back To Me,” originally cut in 1967.

The release highlights Wonder’s prolific 1970s output, his habit of gifting songs to peers, and his lasting influence across funk, soul, gospel, rock and R&B. A companion piece celebrates his love‑song catalogue, noting hits such as “For Once In My Life,” “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours),” and “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” underscoring his lyrical themes of peace, devotion and resilience.

Both releases underscore Wonder’s role as a songwriter‑activist and cement his legacy as one of the most influential musicians of the past six decades.
