Stew Young re-elected as mayor of Langford

Stew Young has been re-elected as the mayor of Langford, defeating incumbent Scott Goodmanson. Young secured 64.1% of the vote with 9,801 votes, while Goodmanson received 5,411 votes (35.4%). Young, who previously served 30 years as mayor before being unseated in 2022, campaigned on a platform of affordability, safety, infrastructure, and recreation, noting that his message regarding stable taxes resonated with voters.

The election saw significant turnover within the Langford City Council. Out of the six available seats, only one incumbent, Colby Harder, successfully defended his position. The remaining council members will be new faces, with Lisa Foxall emerging as the top vote-getter among council candidates. Other successful candidates include Wendy Hobbs, Bryson Hill, Jennifer Dunnett, and Brandy Gordon.
