Zach Johnson Wins Inaugural Portugal Invitational on PGA Tour Champions

Zach Johnson captured the inaugural Portugal Invitational at The Els Club Vilamoura in the Algarve, posting a 19‑under‑par 197 to win by two strokes over Stewart Cink. Padraig Harrington finished third. The event, the first PGA Tour Champions tournament staged in Europe, featured a $3 million purse and a five‑year partnership between the PGA Tour Champions, Arrow Global Group, Turismo de Portugal and Turismo do Algarve.

After the second round, Stewart Cink, Padraig Harrington and Slovakia’s Rory Sabbatini shared the lead at 13‑under. Harrington later held a share of the lead heading into the final round before Johnson’s decisive 65‑stroke final round secured the title. The tournament marked the debut of the Champions Tour on European soil and highlighted Ernie Els’ newly designed course.

Johnson’s victory was his fourth PGA Tour Champions win of the 2026 season, keeping him second in the Charles Schwab Cup standings behind Cink.
