Stiftung Warentest evaluates 15 dog wet food products
Stiftung Warentest has conducted a comprehensive evaluation of 15 different dog wet food products, ranging from budget supermarket brands to premium options like Rinti, Pedigree, and Cesar, as well as organic products.
The test results showed significant variance in quality and cost. The daily ration for a medium-sized dog varied from 1.03 euros to 9.62 euros, meaning the most expensive products cost more than five times as much as the most affordable high-quality options.
While several products were rated as very good, others failed to meet nutritional standards. Some products were found to be deficient in essential nutrients, such as copper or vitamin B1, or provided incomplete feeding recommendations. The quality ratings ranged from ‘very good’ to ‘deficient’, with three products receiving a failing grade.
