Sting celebrates 75th birthday and active music career

British musician Sting, born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, is celebrating his 75th birthday. The former frontman of The Police continues to maintain an active professional schedule, currently performing in his musical ‘The Last Ship’ at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Reflecting on his milestone, Sting expressed pride in his age and noted that he feels as energetic as he did at 14. He attributed his physical fitness to his career, stating that music and the act of singing and playing keep him ‘fresh’ through vibrations and harmony.

His career trajectory has seen him evolve from a teacher and laborer to a global superstar. Following the success of The Police in the late 1970s and early 1980s, he established a prolific solo career. In 2022, he notably sold his music publishing rights to Universal Music Publishing Group in a deal estimated by Reuters to be worth approximately $300 million. His total net worth is estimated to be around $550 million.
