Sting Opens Umbria Jazz 2026 in Perugia, Italy

British singer‑songwriter Sting headlined the opening night of the Umbria Jazz Festival 2026 at the Arena Santa Giuliana in Perugia, Italy. The concert marked the first Italian date of his world tourSting 3.0” and was his third appearance at the festival after debuting in 1987 and returning in 2012. At age 74, Sting performed with guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas, delivering a set that included classics such as “Message in a Bottle”, “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You”, “Englishman in New York”, “Fields of Gold”, “Driven to Tears”, “Shape of My Heart”, “So Lonely”, “Brand New Day”, “Desert Rose”, and a new song “I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart)”. The show closed with “Every Breath You Take” followed by encores of “Roxanne” and an intimate solo rendition of “Fragile”. The audience stood throughout the performance, creating a packed, standing‑room‑only atmosphere. Sting said, “Siamo felici di essere qua per la terza volta,” underscoring his long‑standing connection with the Perugian audience and the festival’s international reputation.
