STJ-Enfam Library incorporates Cançado Trindade collection
The STJ-Enfam Library has officially incorporated the special collection of Antônio Augusto Cançado Trindade, a prominent Brazilian jurist, diplomat, and international judge. Donated by his family, the collection includes decades of academic and professional research, specifically focused on international law.
Cançado Trindade served as a judge and president of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and was a judge at the International Court of Justice in The Hague until his death in 2022. The collection will be maintained as a ‘Special Collection’ to preserve its historical and intellectual identity.
The incorporation ceremony included members of the Superior Tribunal de Justiça, diplomatic authorities, and family members. Officials noted that the addition strengthens the library's specialized resources in international law and human rights, providing essential materials for the training of magistrates.
