Stjepan Lukšić nears finish of Brač 100K ultramarathon

Croatian swimmer Stjepan Lukšić began a ten‑day challenge to swim a full circuit around his native island of Brač. On the final day he was less than ten kilometres from Supetar, where he will complete one of the most demanding amateur sports feats ever attempted on the island.

Throughout the effort he was accompanied by friends, medical staff, firefighters, fellow athletes and local residents who offered moral support, organized aid stations and welcomed him at various points along the coast. The event, called the "Brač 100K" ultramarathon, is dedicated to the charity organization More snage Brač, which provides psychological assistance to cancer patients and their families. Money raised will fund group therapy sessions on the island. Organisers have invited the public to gather in Supetar at noon to celebrate the swimmer’s achievement and to support the charitable cause.
