Stockard Channing discusses reclusive life in London
Actress Stockard Channing, known for her role in the musical film ‘Grease’, has revealed that she has been living a reclusive life in London since moving from Maine. The 82-year-old actor explained that the move was prompted by the delayed emotional impact of the death of her long-term partner, cinematographer Daniel Gillham, who passed away in 2014.
Channing noted that the shift in her life pattern coincided with the political changes in the United States. While she has embraced living alone and being a ‘recluse’, she remains active in the theater scene in the United Kingdom.
Looking ahead, Channing is set to make a major film comeback in September 2026 with ‘Practical Magic 2’, appearing alongside Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock. She is also scheduled to direct a production of ‘Krapp’s Last Tape’ at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2026.
