Stockholm grants cultural funding and KI researchers secure research grants
Region Stockholm has awarded 7.64 million SEK in cultural project support to 64 organizations across the county. This second round of funding for the year follows a review of 284 applications. The grants aim to support a wide range of art forms and geographic locations, with a specific focus on national minorities, rural areas, and accessibility for people with disabilities. Notably, 19 of the recipients are organizations that have not previously received this type of support.
Separately, the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) has announced its 2026 project grants within the humanities and social sciences. Out of 1,202 applications, 96 projects were approved, representing an 8 percent success rate. Four researchers from Karolinska Institutet are among the recipients, collectively receiving over 21 million SEK for studies involving neuroscience, mental health in the digital era, and sensory perception.
