Stockholm Stock Exchange approaches record nine-day losing streak

The Stockholm Stock Exchange is facing a potential record-breaking streak of consecutive losing days. After eight straight days of declines, the market is approaching a ninth day in the red, which would tie a 15-year-old record set in 2011.

Despite the potential for a record, the current downturn is less severe than the 2011 crash; while the OMXSPI fell approximately 14.3 percent during that period, the current decline is just under 2 percent.

Individual company news has influenced market movement. Kjell & Company saw its shares rise over 14 percent following reports of increased turnover and a positive adjusted EBITDA. Conversely, AstraZeneca reported the cancellation of a Phase 3 study for the drug volrustomig due to low probability of meeting goals, though the company noted positive results for other drugs, including Tagrisso, Orpathys, and Enhertu, contributing to a slight rise in its share price.
