Stockholm climate demonstration organized ahead of election

A large-scale climate demonstration is being organized in Stockholm, co-arranged by Naturskyddsföreningen and approximately 256 other organizations, including Läkare för miljön. The event aims to highlight the urgency of climate issues to politicians ahead of the upcoming election.

Beatrice Rindevall, chairperson of Naturskyddsföreningen, expressed disappointment regarding the current level of climate debate in the election campaign, noting a lack of focus from political leaders. She hopes the movement can grow into a broad social force similar to the Pride movement.

Charlotte Höög of Läkare för miljön emphasized the connection between environmental destruction and public health, stating that medical professionals have a duty to show that the climate crisis is also a health catastrophe. The initiative seeks to encourage both political action and lifestyle changes to mitigate environmental and health impacts.
