Stocznia Wulkan launches final module of massive floating dock

Stocznia Szczecińska Wulkan has completed the launching of the final module for a massive floating dock being constructed for Morska Stocznia Remontowa Gryfia in Szczecin. This marks the end of the phase where the hull was built in sections.

The completed structure is expected to reach approximately 240–250 meters in length, 47 meters in width, and 19 meters in height. Once all three modules are joined and equipped, the dock will allow the Gryfia shipyard to repair significantly larger vessels that can enter the port of Szczecin, including those requiring hull, side, and bow repairs.

The final 4,000-ton module was assembled in 13 weeks. The upcoming stages involve joining the modules—potentially using innovative on-water connection methods—and installing necessary equipment. The dock is projected to be operational by the summer of 2025 or 2027, depending on the finalization of testing and commissioning.
