Stoke Climsland community hub receives National Lottery funding

The Old School, Stoke Climsland Community Project has received £20,000 through the National Lottery’s Awards for All programme. This funding is designated for the first phase of a multi-stage refurbishment project intended to restore the historic building.

The initial phase focuses on replacing the building’s windows. The broader renovation plan consists of three stages: window replacement, followed by improvements to the roof and insulation, and concluding with plastering work.

Prior to the lottery award, a crowdfunding campaign raised £1,529, which was matched by Cornwall Council with an additional £1,500, totaling £3,029 for the initial phase. The community center serves various age groups through activities such as toddler groups, film clubs, art groups, and choirs.
