Stoke-on-Trent arson attack: 10 men jailed for 130 years
Ten men have been sentenced to a combined 130 years in prison for a petrol bomb revenge attack in Stoke-on-Trent that left a mother and her 13-year-old daughter with severe burns. The incident occurred on December 16, 2021, when a group smashed windows at a home on Beverley Drive and poured petrol into the hallway.
The victims were forced to jump from an upstairs window to escape. The mother suffered life-threatening injuries, including 65% burns, a broken pelvis, and broken ribs, while her daughter sustained 15% burns.
The court proceedings involved multiple locations, including Leicester Crown Court and Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. Among those sentenced were Haris Mahmood, who received 23 years and nine months for attempted murder and arson, and Ali Abbas, who was jailed for 25 years. Prosecutors stated the attack was a deliberate act of revenge following a prior violent confrontation involving Naveed Hussain.
