Stolen aircraft from Aquidauana located in Bolivia

Three aircraft stolen during an armed robbery at the Aquidauana Aero Club in September 2021 have been located in Bolivia. The planes were found in a hangar at the Mondaca Aerodrome in Cotoca, Santa Cruz department.

The hangar is currently under the judicial custody of Bolivian authorities following an operation against drug trafficking. The stolen aircraft include a Bonanza V35B (registration PT-ING) and two Cessna 182 Skylanes (registrations PT-KDI and PT-DST). One of the owners is the Brazilian singer and actor Almir Sater.

Investigations by the Civil Police of Mato Grosso do Sul suggest the robbery, carried out by approximately 18 armed and hooded individuals, was linked to international drug trafficking. Authorities suspect the aircraft were stolen to be used in clandestine drug routes. Owners are currently awaiting authorization from the Bolivian government to send Brazilian experts to identify the planes and begin the recovery process.
