Stolen spaniel reunited with owner after 13 months

A springer spaniel named Breeze has been reunited with her owner, Adam Timms, more than 13 months after she was stolen during a walk in Stratfield Saye, Hampshire. The theft occurred in August 2025 when the puppy was only 10 weeks old.

Breeze was discovered by a worker at a Thames Water treatment site in Shurlock Row, Berkshire. RSPCA animal rescue officer Sam Matthews found the dog cowering beneath steps, hungry and suffering from a severe eye injury. Upon scanning her microchip, officials confirmed she was registered to Mr. Timms and had been reported stolen.

Veterinary examinations revealed puncture wounds and blunt-force trauma to the dog's face, which resulted in a ruptured eye that required surgical removal. Mr. Timms expressed suspicion that the dog may have been stolen for breeding purposes and subsequently abandoned after sustaining injuries. Breeze has since returned home to her family.
