Stolen Toyota Corolla found abandoned in Buenos Aires

A stolen Toyota Corolla was discovered abandoned on Provincial Route 8 in the 25 de Mayo locality of Buenos Aires province. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen on January 7, 2025, was found by a local police patrol during a preventive sweep in the early hours of Thursday.

Upon noticing the police vehicle, the driver attempted a sudden maneuver, lost control, and ended up on the shoulder of the road. When officers approached to provide assistance, they found the car empty with the engine still running and the doors open. The occupants fled into a wooded area.

Inspectors noted that the rear seats had been completely removed, a modification frequently used for smuggling goods or narcotics. While no cargo was found inside the vehicle during the technical inspection, the car has been transferred to the authorities under the jurisdiction of the Juzgado de Instrucción N. ° 2 de Oberá.
