STOMAlife launches bowel disease awareness campaign in Mysłowice
STOMAlife organized an educational campaign in Mysłowice featuring a large, inflatable model of a human intestine. The installation allowed residents to enter the structure to view the internal anatomy of the intestine and observe the differences between healthy tissue and pathological changes, such as polyps.
The initiative aimed to increase public awareness regarding bowel diseases, colorectal cancer, and the lives of individuals living with a stoma. Experts were present at the event to answer questions about prevention, diagnostic testing, and daily life with a stoma. The campaign emphasized that colorectal cancer can develop for years without clear symptoms, making early diagnosis vital for effective treatment.
