Stone County re-entry program sees growing demand and waitlist

The Pathway Home 5 Re-entry Program at the Stone County Correctional Facility is experiencing increased demand, resulting in a growing waitlist for participants. Following the recent graduation of 22 participants, Warden John Moran noted that interest has risen as inmates observe peers preparing for successful reintegration into society.

Administered by the South Mississippi Planning and Development District and supported by a U.S. Department of Labor grant, the program offers training in resume writing, digital and financial literacy, employment readiness, and personal development. Beyond classroom instruction, the initiative provides up to one year of post-release support to help address practical barriers such as transportation, childcare, work clothing, and connecting with employers willing to hire individuals with criminal records.
