Sátoraljaújhely Tesco ATM robbed of 4 million forints
An ATM located at a Tesco supermarket in Sátoraljaújhely was broken into on Tuesday night, resulting in the theft of approximately 4 million forints.
According to police spokesperson Attila Janosóczki, the perpetrators gained entry to the building by damaging the entrance door. The robbery was executed with high speed and precision, lasting only about two and a half minutes. The thieves reportedly accessed the cash by removing the front panel of the ATM.
The store's alarm system notified a dispatch service, which then contacted a contracted security company. Although police arrived promptly after being notified, the suspects had already fled the scene.
Criminal investigators and forensic technicians have conducted a scene examination and are currently collecting data and interviewing witnesses. An investigation is underway against unknown perpetrators. While the store remained open following the incident, customers were required to use the emergency exit instead of the main entrance during the police investigation.
