Two cars collided frontally on Himmelbjergvej near Gl. Laven, southeast of Silkeborg, on the evening of Sunday, 26 July 2026. One occupant was unable to free himself because of injuries and pain and was described as "technically trapped" in the vehicle. Emergency crews arrived, extricated the person and transported him to hospital. Police spokesperson Thomas Hald confirmed the victim’s condition and that no further information about the cause of the crash was available at the time.
