Storm Adam: Confinement lifted in most Marina Alta towns

Following the torrential rains caused by Storm Adam, the Generalitat Valenciana has lifted confinement measures in most municipalities within the Marina Alta region of Alicante. Restrictions have been removed in towns including Dénia, Ondara, Pedreguer, Gata de Gorgos, El Verger, Benissa, Teulada, and Calp.

However, emergency restrictions remain in place for Xàbia, Pego, and Els Poblets due to ongoing risks. In Els Poblets, the Girona river burst its banks, causing extensive flooding, mud, and debris that damaged homes and businesses. In Pego, emergency services performed helicopter rescues for individuals trapped by rising waters.

Xàbia is beginning to restore normalcy with the reopening of municipal facilities and schools, though the area remains under a yellow alert. The storm caused significant disruption in the region, including the evacuation of 90 people from a campsite in Xàbia and various rescues of elderly residents and motorists in Teulada and Dénia.
