Transport Fever 3 launches with record Steam player counts
Urban Games and publisher Paradox Interactive have released Transport Fever 3 on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The logistics simulation game has seen a strong commercial start, reaching a peak of approximately 47,000 to 50,000 concurrent players on Steam, nearly doubling the previous record set by its predecessor.
This installment introduces several new mechanics and features, including a subarctic biome, weather effects, and a day/night cycle. The simulation has been deepened with new elements such as cargo perishability, where players must manage the speed of transport to prevent goods from spoiling, and a more complex economic system involving specialized stations and contract-based subsidies.
While the game has achieved high sales and top-seller status in regions like Germany, initial player reviews on Steam are mixed. Some users have reported performance issues and optimization concerns, particularly regarding high CPU load during late-game stages when managing large cities and complex networks. Developers have indicated that future improvements are planned.
