STORMRULER signs worldwide deal with Distortion Music Group

St. Louis-based black metal duo STORMRULER has signed a worldwide deal with Distortion Music Group (DMG), powered by Reigning Phoenix Music. The announcement coincides with the release of their new standalone single, ‘Dark Age of Deception’.

The track serves as an introduction to the band’s new label partnership and marks their first new material since 2022. While the duo is currently preparing a new album, ‘Dark Age of Deception’ is a standalone release that does not belong to the upcoming album's central narrative. Instead, it introduces the ‘Realm of Aurelia’, a fantasy setting that the band intends to explore through future musical works.

Comprised of guitarist and vocalist Jason Asberry and drummer Jesse Schobel, STORMRULER describes the new single as a ‘sonic battery draped in frozen and melancholic themes’. The song features a blend of rapid-fire drumming, blackened aggression, and melodic guitar leads.
