Storyteller Overland launches GXV Wild luxury 4x4 expedition camper
Storyteller Overland, the Alabama‑based adventure camper‑van builder, expanded its lineup after acquiring Global Expedition Vehicles (GXV) in 2022. The company introduced the GXV Wild, a 23‑foot long, 11.3‑foot high 4x4 expedition truck built on a Ram 3500 single‑cab chassis. It is powered by a 6.4‑liter HEMI V8 engine delivering 375 hp and 429 lb‑ft of torque, paired with an eight‑speed TorqueFlite HD automatic transmission and a 4‑wheel‑drive system.
The GXV Wild features an AEV‑sourced suspension kit with a three‑inch lift, forged‑aluminum wheels, and all‑terrain tires. It offers a payload of 1,000 lb, a GVWR of 14,000 lb and a towing capacity of 10,000 lb. Interior amenities include a dedicated bathroom with cassette toilet, sink and shower, a kitchen with induction cooker and stainless‑steel sink, a 116‑L Vitrifrigo fridge/freezer, and a convertible four‑seat dinette. Off‑grid capability is provided by 400 W of solar panels, insulated fiberglass walls, dual‑pane windows, and a 189‑L fresh‑water tank.
The vehicle targets upscale overland enthusiasts, positioning itself against competitors such as the Winnebago Arka by offering full bathroom facilities and a more robust payload.
