Stove merchants in Turkey prepare for winter heating demand
As winter approaches in Turkey, local merchants in Kahramanmaraş and Yüksekova are preparing for the seasonal demand for heating equipment. In Kahramanmaraş, stove prices start at approximately 4,000 TL, with pellet stove models reaching up to 20,000 TL. While coal and wood stoves remain popular in rural areas, there is growing interest in pellet stoves due to their decorative appeal and glass fronts that allow users to view the fire.
In Yüksekova, Hakkari, the cooling weather has increased activity in the local stove district. However, merchants report a shift in consumer behavior; due to rising production costs and limited purchasing power, many citizens are opting for second-hand products rather than new ones. Local manufacturers note that while traditional craftsmanship continues, the influx of industrial-scale production and a decrease in custom orders have made the profession more challenging for traditional artisans.
