Stéphane Lanua issues directive to Greek Super League referees

Stéphane Lanua, the French chief referee, held an online meeting with Stoiximan Super League referees and VAR officials to establish strict guidelines for upcoming match assignments. Lanua emphasized the necessity of fair, ‘50-50’ management, stating that officials who fail to treat all teams equally or follow established guidelines will be excluded from match assignments.

While Lanua noted that human errors are acceptable, he clarified that decisions appearing to favor one team over another are not. He also addressed recent weaknesses in match management and instructed officials to immediately report any approaches made by club representatives, warning that failure to disclose such interactions would result in consequences.

Additionally, Lanua encouraged officials to maintain confidence on the pitch and in the VAR center, advising them not to be influenced by increasing pressure from the media.
