Stéphane Perrin, Mayor of Stenay, Dies at 57

Stéphane Perrin, the mayor of Stenay in the Meuse department, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, August 9, at the age of 57.

Perrin had served as mayor since 2009, following the death of Étienne Demulder. Originally from the Vosges region, he moved to Stenay in the 1990s to manage the SMD business incubator. Throughout his career, he held several significant local roles, including serving as a departmental councilor since 2008 and vice-president of the Meuse departmental council.

Since 2023, he also presided over the community of communes (Codecom) of the Pays de Stenay and Val Dunois. Local institutions, including the Meuse Department and Meuse Attractivité, have expressed their condolences, praising his dedication to the territory and his commitment to public service.
