Stéphanie Lavaux elected rector of Universidad del Rosario

Stéphanie Lavaux has been elected as the new rector of Universidad del Rosario for the 2026-2030 term. The decision was made by the Electoral College, which supported her candidacy with 15 votes in favor and four against.

A political scientist with a doctorate in Political Science and Educational Innovation, Lavaux returns to the institution after a long tenure. She previously served at the university for over 20 years in various roles, including professor, research director, dean of the School of Human Sciences, and academic vice-rector. Most recently, she served as the General Academic and Student Affairs Vice-Rector at UNIMINUTO.

Lavaux’s vision for the university focuses on leveraging innovation and technology to expand, rather than replace, the human element of education. She also holds positions on the Board of Directors of the Alianza Francesa de Bogotá and the Institute of Francophony for University Governance.
