STPI inaugurates 30,000-square-foot startup incubation centre in Dehradun
Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has opened a new 30,000-square-foot incubation facility at IT Park on Sahastradhara Road in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The facility was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada.
Spread across four floors, the center provides semi-furnished office spaces, high-speed internet, an air-conditioned environment, an auditorium, meeting rooms, and a Network Operations Centre. The infrastructure is designed to support technology startups and IT services companies by fostering innovation, product development, and employment generation.
Minister Prasada emphasized that technological self-reliance is critical for India’s development, noting the importance of strengthening domestic semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystems to avoid disruptions like those seen during the COVID-19 pandemic. The facility aims to support Uttarakhand’s more than 1,700 recognized startups and complement the state’s digital governance initiatives.
