Strasbourg increases municipal museum admission prices

The municipal museums of Strasbourg have implemented a price increase effective September 1. Full admission prices rose from 7.50 to 9 euros, a 20% increase, while reduced rates increased from 3.50 to 5 euros. The municipality, led by Catherine Trautmann, stated the overhaul is necessary to increase the network’s own resources and fund upcoming investments.

The reform also includes a revised pass system. The 1-day Pass has increased from 16 to 20 euros. The previous 3-day Pass has been discontinued and replaced by a Palais Rohan Pass for 20 euros, which provides access to three palace museums and the Heitz gallery. Annual subscriptions have also been introduced with various rates based on group size.

Additionally, the new policy ends certain free services for elected and former elected officials of Strasbourg and the Eurometropolis, who must now pay the reduced rate unless visiting as part of their official duties. Social protections remain in place, including free admission for individuals under 18, job seekers, disabled people, and certain social assistance recipients.
