Strasbourg public transport services reduced following driver assault
Following demonstrations on October 17, the Compagnie des transports strasbourgeois (CTS) has implemented service reductions in several peripheral neighborhoods of Strasbourg. Since Monday, October 19, various bus and tram stations are no longer being served after 5:00 PM.
The decision follows an incident on Sunday evening where a bus driver on line C5 was physically assaulted in the Hautepierre district. Video footage circulating on social media showed individuals attacking the driver, forcing him from the vehicle, and setting off fireworks inside the bus. Additionally, a CTS agency was vandalized. The Unsa CTS union has condemned the violence, and the CTS has filed a formal complaint.
