Strasbourg redevelopment: Nouvel Été project and tiny house initiative
The former Printemps building in Strasbourg is undergoing a major redevelopment project named ‘Nouvel Été’. The plan includes a three-level Zara store, the consolidation of the Halles and Aubette shops on intermediate floors, a 182-room Motel One, and a rooftop bar-restaurant. The project aims to restore the building's original silhouette and facade, moving away from the previous metal exterior. Completion is expected between late 2028 and early 2029.
In a separate local development, five ‘tiny houses’ will be installed on the Heppner wasteland in Neudorf in early October. Funded by the Crédit Mutuel foundation and managed by the association L’Étage, these small homes are intended to provide interim housing for homeless families with school-aged children to help stabilize their situations.
