Stratasys launches F870 large-format industrial 3D printer

Stratasys has launched the F870, a large-format industrial FDM 3D printer designed to bring additive manufacturing directly onto factory floors. The system features a heated build chamber measuring 1,000 x 610 x 610 mm, capable of reaching temperatures up to 95 °C.

Automotive companies Toyota Production Engineering in Kentucky and Rivian Automotive in Michigan were among the first to test the machine. They have utilized the F870 for producing advanced prototypes, tooling, jigs, and fixtures intended for production lines. The printer is designed to support various materials, including carbon fiber-reinforced Nylon 12CF, ABS, and ASA.

Positioned as a tool to complement or replace CNC machining and external tooling suppliers, the F870 aims to increase production speed and reduce costs by enabling in-house manufacturing. Stratasys is demonstrating the platform at the IMTS exhibition in Chicago.
