Stratasys wins $27.6 million patent infringement verdict against Bambu Lab
A US jury has awarded Stratasys approximately $27.6 million in damages after finding that Bambu Lab infringed upon four 3D printing patents. The verdict was reached following a week-long trial in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
The defendants involved in the ruling include Bambu Lab Ltd., Shanghai Lunkuo Technology Co. Ltd., Tuozhu Technology Limited, and Shenzhen Tuozhu Technology Co. Ltd. The jury determined that all four patents presented during the trial were valid and had been infringed. These patents cover various technologies, including tagged build materials, printer configuration information, and networked three-dimensional printing.
This ruling marks the conclusion of the first of two patent infringement cases filed by Stratasys against Bambu Lab. A second case is currently pending and has not yet been assigned a trial date. While the verdict is a significant legal victory for Stratasys, it remains to be seen if the company will seek an injunction to restrict the sale of the affected Bambu Lab products.
