Strategic Minerals advances Redmoor tungsten drilling in Cornwall

Strategic Minerals PLC has announced plans to advance drilling and testing at its Redmoor tungsten project in Cornwall through much of 2027. The company aims to upgrade its resource ahead of a pre-feasibility study.

Market conditions for tungsten have strengthened, with the benchmark ammonium paratungstate price averaging approximately $2,960 per tonne unit, significantly higher than the $1,800 per tonne unit used in the company’s previous economic scenarios. The Redmoor inferred resource recently increased by 49% to 17.4 million tonnes.

Cornwall Council has approved a 22,500-metre drilling programme, with three rigs currently operating. Early drilling results have shown high-grade mineralisation, and metallurgical work has increased the expected tungsten recovery rate to 85.8%.
