Music industry highlights and post-holiday brain fatigue trends
The fourth week of August features several notable music releases and discussions regarding post-holiday mental fatigue.
In the music industry, Kento Nakajima has released his third single, featuring tracks for the anime ‘Nigejouzu no Wakagimi’ and his film ‘Love ≠ Comedy’. K-pop groups TOMORROW X TOGETHER and ZEROBASEONE have also released new singles in Japan, with the latter collaborating with the Japanese piano trio Omoinotake. Additionally, AKB48 released their 68th single, ‘Suki-ish’, and a collaboration single featuring members of Hinatazaka46 has been released by the band Bocchi Boromaru.
Regarding mental health, experts suggest that the reluctance to return to work after a holiday may stem from brain fatigue rather than laziness. The phenomenon is linked to the lack of ‘idling’ time for the brain, which occurs when individuals consume excessive digital information during breaks instead of allowing the Default Mode Network (DMN) to process information and rest.
