Strategy adds $100 million of Bitcoin, boosting holdings to 846,842 BTC

Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) purchased an additional 1,587 Bitcoin on June 15, spending roughly $100 million at an average price of $63,024 per BTC. The acquisition brings the company's total Bitcoin balance to 846,842 BTC, roughly 4 % of the cryptocurrency’s 21 million‑coin supply.

The purchase was funded through the sale of about 1.7 million Class A shares, raising roughly $209 million, with $100 million allocated to the new Bitcoin buying and another $100 million added to the company’s USD reserve, now around $1.1 billion. Despite the larger Bitcoin stash, Strategy’s “BTC Yield” – the amount of Bitcoin per diluted share – fell from 13.0 % to 12.5 %, prompting critics to argue the transaction dilutes common‑shareholder ownership.

Company chairman Michael Saylor rejected the dilution narrative, saying the BTC‑per‑share metric ignores the cash added to the balance sheet and emphasizing a broader “common equity Bitcoin exposure” (CEBE) measure that accounts for senior claims and cash reserves.
