Strategy adds 520 BTC, boosts $300 M USD reserve

Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) bought an additional 520 bitcoins for roughly $35 million between June 15‑21, 2026. The purchase raised the company’s total holding to 847,363 BTC – about 4 % of the total Bitcoin supply – at a cumulative cost basis of $64.1 billion and an average purchase price of $75,650 per coin.

The acquisition was funded largely through an at‑the‑market sale of 2.71 million MSTR shares that generated $335.5 million. Only $34.9 million of the proceeds went to the Bitcoin purchase; the remaining $300 million was added to Strategy’s U.S. dollar reserve, bringing that cash buffer to $1.4 billion.

Strategy’s perpetual preferred stock (STRC) fell to $82.50, a 17.5 % discount to its $100 par value, driving its annual dividend obligations up from $300 million to about $1.2 billion. This reduced dividend‑coverage from over seven years to roughly 14 months. CryptoQuant analyst Julio Moreno warned that the company should pause further Bitcoin purchases and rebuild cash reserves to around $2.8 billion to restore investor confidence.
