Strategy targets 3.3% annual Bitcoin growth to sustain dividend payouts
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy, said the firm needs only a 3.3% year‑on‑year increase in the value of its Bitcoin holdings to cover the cash‑flow required for its perpetual preferred‑stock dividends. The metric, dubbed “BTC Breakeven ARR,” compares the company’s annual dividend commitment of roughly $1.76 billion with the total market value of its Bitcoin reserve.
Strategy now holds about 843,775 BTC, valued at roughly $53.8 billion, and recently sold 3,588 BTC for $216 million – the largest single‑coin sale in its history – to strengthen its liquidity buffer and fund quarterly dividend payments.
