Stratos Tzortzoglou calls his life a “sacred disaster” in candid interview

Greek actor Stratos Tzortzoglou sat down with journalist Giannis Vitsas for Espresso TV’s vidcast “People”. He reflected on a turbulent childhood, describing his life as a “sacred disaster” and likening it to an endless roller‑coaster.

He revealed that his mother was placed in an orphanage at age 14, where she met his father. Their relationship was marked by poverty, his father’s imprisonment after a fight, and his mother’s two suicide attempts. A doctor friend once called him “charcoal”, saying the more people try to extinguish him, the brighter he burns. Tzortzoglou said these hardships forged the person he is today and expressed deep gratitude for his parents’ love and sacrifice.
