Straubing-Bogen District opens nominations for sports awards

The Straubing-Bogen district has announced that nominations are now open for its upcoming sports awards ceremony. The event, scheduled for April 2027, will honor successful athletes, dedicated officials, and long-serving referees for achievements made during the year 2026.

For adult athletes, eligibility includes participants in the Olympic Games, World Championships, and European Championships. Top placements in German, South German, or Bavarian Championships also qualify candidates, provided the competitions were organized by recognized sports associations and met specific qualification or ranking criteria.

In the junior category, Lower Bavarian champions and third-place finishers in South German or Bavarian Championships are eligible. Beyond athletic performance, the district will recognize officials and referees with at least ten years of service. To qualify, nominees must either reside in the Straubing-Bogen district or be members of a local club.
