Straume explosion injures ambulance worker and leaves one person missing

An explosion and fire occurred at a parking garage in Straume on Tuesday afternoon, injuring an ambulance worker and leaving one person missing. The incident took place when emergency responders arrived at an apartment to contact an individual but were met with an explosion.

Police have cordoned off the area and notified the bomb squad. One ambulance employee was transported to Haukeland University Hospital with an unconfirmed extent of injuries. Another person from the building was also injured and taken to the trauma center.

Authorities are currently searching the surrounding area for the missing individual, who was the subject of the initial welfare check. It remains unclear whether the explosion was an accident or a deliberate act, and police are currently interviewing witnesses to determine the cause.
