Strava integrates Google Gemini to analyze training data
Strava has announced a new integration with Google Gemini, allowing subscribers to connect their accounts to the AI assistant to query their personal activity history. This feature enables users to ask specific questions about their performance, such as whether they are running faster at the same heart rate, requesting kilometer-by-kilometer analyses of recent races, or investigating how strength training affects their running form.
The integration is read-only, meaning Gemini can consult activity data to provide contextualized answers but cannot modify any information within the Strava account. While the feature offers advanced insights into training streaks and historical comparisons, early tests indicate the AI can still make errors.
Currently, the rollout is limited to the United States. Strava has not yet announced a specific timeline for when the feature will be available in other markets, including Europe.
