Stray animal collisions on Brazilian highways cause injuries and a fatality

A Chevrolet Cobalt traveling on the BR‑316 between Belém do São Francisco and Cabrobó in Pernambuco struck a stray donkey early on June 10. The impact damaged the vehicle’s front end but, according to the driver, no one was injured.

On June 8, a motorcyclist on the SE‑204 near Santana do São Francisco in Sergipe collided with a loose horse. The rider suffered fatal injuries at the scene, while a passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities noted irregularities with the motorcycle’s documentation and are investigating the circumstances.
