Streaming platforms announce new psychological thriller and horror series

Several major streaming services have announced upcoming psychological thrillers and horror miniseries scheduled for late 2026.

Netflix will premiere the Swedish psychological thriller ‘A Couple of Lies’ (originally titled ‘Bytet’) on October 30, 2026. The four-part series explores a toxic war of secrets between two couples and features visual settings in Sweden and Sicily. Additionally, Netflix is set to release ‘Obsess’ (known in Arabic as ‘Al-Nafs Al-Mutma’inna’) on the same day. Produced by Shasha Media, this Middle Eastern psychological horror miniseries utilizes period ambiance and supernatural elements.

HBO is developing a limited series reimagining of Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’. Starring Sarah Snook, the production is described as a visceral, present-day murder mystery centered on a new protagonist, Myra Massey.

On Hulu, the mystery dramedy ‘Phony’ continues its weekly release schedule. The fourth episode, titled “Vibes Are Rancid”, is scheduled to premiere on November 3, 2026, following the series' October premiere.
