Streaming platforms Disney+ and Netflix announce new features and content

Streaming platforms are introducing new content and features to enhance user experience. Netflix is set to release a wide variety of new titles in September 2026, including films, series, and documentaries. The upcoming lineup features star-studded casts and diverse genres ranging from action thrillers to dramas, with some productions inspired by real-life events.

Disney+ is launching a global Playlists feature, allowing users to watch continuous streams of themed content. These playlists are organized by genre, franchise, characters, or mood, such as Pixar collections or specific series like Bluey. This move provides a more linear viewing experience, similar to the Channels feature found on SkyShowtime, while maintaining the platform's core on-demand functionality.
