Streaming services expand content offerings in US and Czech Republic

Streaming services are evolving their content strategies to compete for diverse audiences. Apple TV has expanded its catalog by adding 19 licensed Hollywood films to its subscription service in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. These titles, featured in a new ‘Great Movies Available Now on Apple TV’ carousel, include well-known films such as Titanic, E.T., Arrival, and The Martian. This move marks a shift from Apple’s previous focus on original content to including established studio hits. However, this specific collection is currently unavailable to subscribers in other regions, including Slovakia.

In the Czech Republic, Česká televize (ČT) is strengthening its digital platform, iVysílání, to compete with international giants like Netflix. Following a 19 percent increase in application visits in 2025, the broadcaster plans to expand its foreign series offerings this autumn. New additions to the digital catalog include the German series Druck, the British prison drama Time, and the Balkan crime series I Know Your Soul, alongside the Finnish series Helsinki Syndrome.
