Streaming services expand sports content in Brazil via FAST channels

Streaming services are expanding their sports content offerings in Brazil through the Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) model.

Pluto TV has launched the official NFL Channel in Brazil and Latin America. The channel provides 24/7 programming, including news, analysis, original productions, documentaries, and highlights. While it features the ‘NFL GameCenter Live’ for real-time updates and statistics, it does not broadcast live NFL games, as those rights are held by other entities.

Simultaneously, SportyNet has debuted a free linear channel on the TCL Channel, integrated into TCL Smart TVs in Brazil. This move aims to leverage the FAST ecosystem to reach a potential audience of over 11 million connected televisions. SportyNet’s programming includes live broadcasts of various competitions, such as the Bundesliga, Italian Serie A, and the Brazilian Serie B and C championships, with plans to exhibit over one thousand matches by 2026.
